LOS ANGELES, Feb. 11, 2021 – World No. 6 singles player Stefanos Tsitsipas (@steftsitsipas) – who won the 2019 ATP World Tour Finals and reached the 2020 French Open semifinals – will direct and executive produce a new, exclusive series with Tennis Channel that showcases his life and travels on the professional tennis circuit. Initially available on Tennis Channel International, the network’s global streaming service, Tsitsipas’ Dear Fans will give viewers a unique glimpse into the life of the 22-year-old star as he continues to make a name for himself in the sport. The first edition will be available on Tennis Channel International Thursday, Feb. 11, with 13 additional episodes to follow over the next two years.
Since bursting onto the pro-tennis scene Tsitsipas has been especially engaging with his fans via YouTube and social media platforms. He will direct and produce each episode of his Dear Fans series on Tennis Channel International, and allow viewers to connect with him as he chronicles his travels, hobbies and top-flight training sessions via a previously unseen video-blog and docu-follow format.
“Those who have followed me throughout the years know that I’m always trying to experiment creatively to reach a deeper connection with my fans,” said Tsitsipas. “Dear Fans allows me to share my journey as I explore the world and reach my ultimate potential in the sport I love.”
After its exclusive availability on Tennis Channel International, Tsitsipas’ Dear Fans will run on Tennis Channel in late 2021. Also, cutdown versions of each episode will appear on Tsitsipas’ YouTube channel. Tsitsipas joins a long list of active players who have worked with Tennis Channel in various capacities, among them American stars Sloane Stephens and Shelby Rogers.
“Stefanos is a unique talent both on and off the court and we are excited to help bring his passion for exploring the world and his quest to be World No. 1 to tennis fans everywhere,” said Andy Reif, senior vice president, Tennis Channel International. “Fans around the world are getting real and raw authenticity from one of the biggest stars of our sport.”
Tsitsipas is currently competing in the 2021 Australian Open, which is live each night in primetime on Tennis Channel. The network is carrying 175 hours of coverage from February 8-21, including all five finals: the men’s and women’s singles and doubles finals and the mixed-doubles championship. Tennis Channel’s on-air team include Hall of Famers Martina Navratilova (@Martina) and Lindsay Davenport (@LDavenport76), as well as coach Paul Annacone (@paul_annacone), announcers Brett Haber (@BrettHaber) and Steve Weissman (@Steve_Weissman), and Sports Illustrated’s and CBS 60 Minutes’ Jon Wertheim (@jon_wertheim).
